The delayed Counter Strike: Global Offensive closed beta will now start on November 30.

Valve confirmed the new date via a short and sharp Twitter post, stating: "The beta will be active for all current key holders starting Wed November 30th."

Valve delayed the CS:GO closed beta which missed its previously planned October launch window.

Valve's Chet Faliszek said in a video interview that the beta had been pushed back "a bit" following feedback from professional players.

An official Twitter account for CS: GO has confirmed that the “Screenshots will be coming out next week.”

Along with that, fans can also grab the opportunity to get the Beta keys of the game in the PAX and Eurogamer expo.

“The first keys will be given out at Pax or the Eurogamer Expo. We will open it up to more people later.” said @csgo_dev.

There has been a lot of speculations that Valve has been ignoring the so called CS 1.6 pros in regards to the development of Counter Strike: Global Offensive, but they have assured those people by saying; “Don’t worry-we aren’t ignoring them. Meeting with more people & making plans for more feedback sessions especially 1.6 pros #CSGO”

CS: GO set to release in 2012 features new maps, characters, and weapons and delivers updated versions of the classic CS content (de_dust, etc.). In addition, CS: GO will introduce new gameplay modes, matchmaking, leader boards, and more.

I'm concerned here with what could so easily become a major kick in the teeth for the dedicated CS:S community. For us and our clan of "older" players, CS:S has been what we all do most nights when we get home from work for years and we've been one of the few clans that have managed to avoid folding since the early days of CS:S.
I have to admit that since the over flooding of FPS games over the past few years and the updates to CS:S we've seen numbers of public players dwindle from full servers every night down to just the odd trickle more recently.
We managed to stay afloat due to having enough die hard CS:S players within our community to populate our own server and have always enjoyed internal clan matches and that type of thing and although we have tried the leagues and been humilliated each time we do all share the love for CS:S despite not being in the pro circtuit.
We've found that we are now in a situation where something has to change otherwise we will lose all of our CS:S players to other FPS games such as BFBC2 and BF3, yes I do agree that games such as those don't have the lastability of CS and CS:S but I do feel that when people see the graphical superiority and physics engines they do become a little more inclined to play those games, especially given the fact that they have computer hardware that craves such games and would be a waiste of money if not used at it's potential.

I always predicted that the next CS:S would have to come with a new engine if it was to be successful. Building a new CS:S on an old engine would be a massive mistake in my opinion as I beleive that the best of CS:S was prior to the new update with all of the acheivements and things and since then it seems to have degraded the serious CS:S community even more so.

For us though with the dwindling numbers of public players and clan members moving onto other games I suppose it won't really matter if the new CS:GO is a letdown, we will continue to play CS:S either way all be it less and less until it disappears altogether from our server hardware.

We will all look back with the fondest of memories and will all be able to say that we've had some great times.
Deep down though, we all want the CS:GO to be the new CS:S with equally addictive playability and lastability. Only time will tell.
