I know by now you’ve probably all seen the trailer for BF3, that is the 12 minute one. However they’re now released this with one of the producers commentary on it. While it’s nothing ground breaking, I found it did highlight some of the smaller things, of which DICE are obviously very proud, that I missed when watching it before. I looks as though DICE have done a fantastic job with this engine, and I sincerely hope that this shakes up the whole status quo. COD games have been the top of this field for so long now, and in my opinion without justification. I think Infinity Ward have been riding the wave of previous commercial successes with the COD franchise and doing very little to their engine from one release to the next, and while Frostbite 2.0 is still an evolutionary rather than a revolutionary step from Frostbite 1.5, it still seems like DICE are doing more to improve the player experience.
